Every time you turn on your Macintosh, Snap Mail will automatically start running in the background as a driver. You will know that Snap Mail is starting up when you see the Snap Mail icon displayed at the bottom of your screen when other startup icons are shown.
If you see the Snap Mail icon with an “X” through it, it means that Snap Mail was not able to start up. In this case Snap Mail will display an alert box to tell you what the problem is.
If you want to turn on your Macintosh without starting up Snap Mail, hold the mouse button down before the Snap Mail startup icon is shown. The icon will appear, but the envelope will be separated from the network by an “X” drawn through the connection. This indicates that Snap Mail is not running in the background. You will not be able to open the Snap Mail desk accessory if the driver has not been loaded.
